All of our full-time undergraduate courses involve work-based learning – this could be through placements, live briefs and guest lectures. Many of these opportunities are provided by local businesses and organisations. If you are studying part-time you will normally be charged on a pro rata basis depending on the number of modules you take. Further tuition fees are payable for each subsequent year of study and are subject to an annual increase of no more than 5% or RPI . The annual increase for UK students, who are subject to regulated fees, will increase no more than the statutory maximum fee.
Please note that if you do not meet our English language requirements, we offer a number of ‘pre-sessional’ courses inEnglish for Academic Purposes. Electronics and computing are two key growth areas for the technology industry, both making spectacular advances and impacting modern life beyond recognition. Studying all things electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering at Kent will allow you to be part of this revolution and to gain the knowledge and skills to make your own mark in this exciting field.
In this module you will learn to apply mathematical concepts and software tools to solve engineering problems. Design projects enable you to integrate practical and theoretical work and help to reinforce what you are learning. Second year students put learning into practice with the Robot Wars project.
- The Título Intermedio is a 2-3 year degree and is equivalent to a HNC, it is not suitable for postgraduate entry but holders of this award could be considered for second year undergraduate entry or pre-Masters.
- You’ll study subjects such as analogue and digital electronics, circuits and systems, computing, communications and the application of electrical energy.
- Microprocessor and Sensor Systems Applications in Engineeringprovides an overview of sensor-centric microcontrollers and microprocessors.
Our School is a community of scholars leading the way in technological research and development. Today’s computer scientists are creative people who are focused and committed, yet restless and experimental. We are home to many of the world’s top scientists, and our work is driven by creativity and imagination as well as technical excellence. That’s why we are ranked 6th in the UK for research power in computer science . Our new app, Visit UoY, allows you to take a self-guided tour of campus narrated by our current students.

This will give you the knowledge and skills needed for a graduate entering employment. Engineers working in industry usually find that they become involved in extended practical or theoretical projects. This module provides an opportunity for you to work in a similar situation. Providing you with the skills required to commission a complete IT system, this module provides information on network design and implementation, services, security and management of systems. The entry requirements for alternative qualifications can be quite specific; for example you may need to take certain modules and achieve a specified grade in those modules. Please contact us to discuss the transferability of your qualification.
This module covers the development of modern computer architectures for servers, workstations, hand-held devices, signal processing and embedded systems from the introduction of the four-stage RISC pipeline to the present day.
