The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service is a UK organisation responsible for managing applications to university and college. This course includes project work that requires you to develop and produce a portfolio or collection. You’ll be expected to provide the materials for use in your individual major projects; costs will vary depending on the materials selected. You will require use of a laptop, and most students do prefer to have their own. However, you can borrow a laptop from the university or use one of our shared computer rooms.

Applicants will typically be required to pass the National Senior Certificate with 4 subjects at 6655, to include any essential subject. Applicants will typically be required to pass the Higher Secondary Education Certificate with 72%, to include any essential subject at 65%. Applicants will typically be required to pass the Certificate of Higher Secondary Education with 75%, to include any essential subject at 73%.

Pc Game Pass

Three pairs of large projector screens in the laboratory allow students to view the lecture material and the game being developed at the same time. Our games lab includes Sony PlayStation Development consoles; gaming PCs and supports software including Microsoft Visual Studio, Unity, Unreal and Maya. This module aims to provide a strong theoretical and practical background necessary for you to build high quality scalable software and to operate effectively as an industry professional. It examines software quality concepts necessary to build high quality software architecture.

  • In Year 3 you used an agile team-work to develop a game from initial concept to publishing stage with the aim of releasing a game on platforms such as the Google Play store or itch.io in a multidisciplinary team.
  • After I got in touch with the game engines and DCC tools through this course, I started to understand the interesting points of work as a Technical Artist and the possibility of this job.
  • Applicants will typically be required to complete the Studentsprogv at an overall grade of 10, to include any essential subject at Level A grade 7.
  • Students work in teams on a software design project, in which they build application prototypes.

This module aligns with the programme’s philosophy of developing a wider appreciation of how game technologies can be applied in many different disciplines by covering the fundamental principles behind 3D graphics programming. The inKUbator, our game development studio, provides games students with the opportunity to hear and learn from a large number of industry speakers and to work together in interdisciplinary teams to create games. Past speakers have been from Sony, Splash Damage, Aardvark Swift, Interactive Selection, CryTek and Unity. InKUbator attracts talented students regardless of their faculty or year of study, because it provides an interdisciplinary space outside of formally taught modules. The primary aim of this module is to develop a range of skills in the creation of multimedia products, through the study and production of sophisticated content driven interactive material using industry standard multimedia authoring software.

The degree was created in response to the acute shortage of game programmers within the industry, and has been designed through consultation with the sector. Most modules are assessed through coursework, which may include project work and student-led presentations. Introduction to the skills and knowledge needed to launch a small business successfully. This module will define and help you acquire the personal and professional skills needed to develop a professional career and/or to succeed as entrepreneurs in Small and Medium sized Enterprises .
