An average of 80% across four subjects with 85% in Mathematics and 80% in one other science or technology subject. We accept the European Baccalaureate and our entry requirements are listed under the ‘European Baccalaureate’ section. Throughout your course you’ll have opportunities to apply your learning in our well-equipped labs. Individual and group projects will see you design, build and test products using state-of-the-art hardware, software and fabrication facilities. We offer an extended degree in this subject that you can access with lower entry requirements. The required grades in Mathematics and a science or technology subject must be achieved in your final examinations if you take them. If you do not take one of these subjects in your final examinations, you will need an average grade across 4 semesters in it. Level 3 Diploma achieved with Merit including three Level 3 subjects with 14 credits at Excellence including Mathematics and one other science or technology subject.

Travel and accommodation costs are included for all mandatory taught residential field trips, but you’ll need to provide your own food and drink. Entry requirements are in the range of A-level BBB–BCC (120–104 UCAS Tariff points), or BTEC Extended Diploma DMM–MMM. Our conditional offers typically fall within this range. Personal tutors will be able to advise students on where to access course internships. The Faculty expectation is that students are as far as possible treated like other employees of the company or organisation. It is expected that students on sandwich placements will be paid throughout their time with the company. In some cases, students on summer placements have had expenses only covered by the company. Students on sandwich placements are required to pay a reduced fee to the University for their placement year.

This Electronic and computer engineering Masters/MSc programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to play a leading part in the future research, development and application of these technologies. The individual project gives students the opportunity to gain both detailed knowledge and practical experience in a more focussed area than generally possible elsewhere in their degree programme. Required A-level subjects include mathematics and either physics, further mathematics, electronics or computer science. A pass in the science Practical is required where it is separately endorsed.

On campus you’ll find professional-standard facilities and learning resources for all of our subjects and a brand new academic building Elm House, alongside the library, student centre, fitness facilities and the Students’ Union. There will be opportunities to attend additional study trips or optional taught residential field trips throughout the school, but these are not required to pass your course. Normally, a contribution will be required towards expenses such as travel, entrance fees and accommodation. This will vary depending on where and how long the trip is, but you should budget around £1,500. In your career you need a combination of knowledge, skills, personal qualities and relevant experiences – and you’ll get all of this from your degree.

You can either visit us in-person and explore the campus for yourself or get the campus tour experience from the comfort of your own home. All suitable UK-based applicants will be invited to an interview; for the current application cycle the interviews will be held online.
